Kimball Library News 1/26/15

RESCHEDULED JAMBOREE: Due to inclement weather, the 5th Annual Jack Frost Jamboree has been rescheduled to Saturday, Feb 7th, 10:30am – 2:30pm.  Please put it in your date book!

TAX FORMS: A limited number of Forms 1040, 1040A, and 1040EZ will be available, but their instruction booklets won’t be. You could come in and print the instructions, but at 10 cents per page, it could become quite costly.

“IRS appropriations were significantly cut in the 2015 Omnibus Appropriations bill recently passed by Congress.” According to the office of Rep. John Boehner, Speaker of the House of
Representatives, funding for the IRS was cut by $345 million, to below its FY 2008 level.

The best we can do is to refer you to an IRS phone number and website if you wish to acquire paper tax forms.  To order tax products for home delivery by mail, patrons can call 1-800-829-3676 or visit IRS.gov/orderforms. To view and download forms directly, you can also visit IRS.gov/forms. We want to make sure you know may have to call and get them mailed directly to your home.

TEENS READ: The book discussion for Wednesday, February 11, at 6:30 for grades 9-12 is a novel entitled 'Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe' by Benjamin Alire Saenz.’  Aristotle is an angry teen with a brother in prison. Dante is a know-it-all who has an unusual way of looking at the world. And it is through their friendship that Ari and Dante will learn the most important truths about themselves and the kind of people they want to be.  Refreshments, discussion, and fun will be served. It’s not school!  No worries if you didn’t finish the book.  You will still be able to contribute to the discussion.  All interested high school students are welcome regardless of the town you live in. Just ask for a copy of the book at the front desk.

HAVE YOU TRIED ANIME?: How will you know if it is your ‘thing’ or not if you don’t come to at least one gathering?  Join us on Thursday, February 12, from 6-7:30pm.  We will be watching anime (ratings equivalent to PG-13), making new friends, and enjoying some snacks.  Feel free to bring sketch books to draw or read manga while we watch.  We also have some cool how-to drawing books right here at the library. This event is for grades 6-12 and non-residents are welcome.  Please register yourself and a friend.
