Kimball Library News 2/23/15

EXPLORING THE SMOKIES:  If you have ever thought about visiting the Smoky Mountains you won't want to miss Ron's Wybranowski’s program on Thursday, March 19th, from 6:30-8:00pm.

His goal for the program is to provide enough information about the Smokies so that your first visit to the park will be productive and you will see all of the park's hidden glories. He will present an overview of the park, listing available resources such as maps, guides, and places to see and stay. He will show many of his images taken during his several visits to the park, including where and how many of the images were made.

Ron is a serious amateur photographer.  His primary focus is nature photography with the goal of capturing extraordinary images of the beautiful scenery, flowers, birds and animals which surround us to create an emotional response in the viewer. If you’d like to see more of Ron’s work, please take a look at his website: http://www.ronwybranowski.com.

Refreshments will be served at this event.  This program is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Kimball Library.  If you’re interested in how to be a friend, please attend a monthly meeting held on the first Monday of the month at 10:15am.  All are welcome.

KNITWITS: Every Tuesday from 10:30-noon we have some knitters gather in the Atkinson room with their projects.  Whether you are a beginner or an experienced knitter, come join the fun as we learn together.  Please bring your own supplies.  This in an informal gathering to finish those projects started or perhaps get some ideas for beginning new ones.  We've been known to share some laughs, drop a stitch or two, and become ‘knit’ together.  All experience levels and ages welcome.

LIBRARY BUDDIES: We still have openings!  Little buddies are in grades K-3, and big buddies are in grades 6-12.  Contact Kathy Watson, Youth Services Director, if you’re interesting in your little one having a mentor, or if your older child needs community service hours or mentoring experience.  The commitment is on Wednesdays from 4-5pm from March 11th through April 15th.
