Time
around the holidays means different things for different people. Some of us have parties to go to, some of us
have family to gather with, some of us have kids home with not enough to do. Take time to plan a little 'down time' to
decompress with some items from the library.
Stock up on books, movies, music, and magazines. For those of you who have compatible gadgets,
browse and check out downloadable books right off our website. You can choose from hundreds of ebooks and
audio books and have one for free on your gadget in a matter of minutes.

about the Wenham Museum? Bring the entire family to discover the treasures of
childhood and explore how New Englanders have lived, worked, dressed and played
from the 17th century to today at the Wenham Museum. Enjoy the world-famous
doll and toy collection and delightful model train gallery. Learn from the
historic costume, textile, and photograph collections. Step back in time on a
guided tour of the circa 1690 Claflin-Richards House…then experience hands-on
history in the Family Discovery Gallery. Changing special exhibitions mean
there is always something new to see!
What
about Imajine That? Imajine That is a
first of its kind family and child interactive playspace where human potential
has no boundaries. Their unique 12,000 square foot playspace offers an
environment where families can create and learn together in a safe and
educational way. Imajine That's "Imagination Stations" include a
child-sized grocery store, a HUGE dinosaur climbing structure, Between the
Lions reading area, Peep and the Big Wide World Science Station, Pirate Area,
and an arts and crafts area, just to name a few!
What
about Peabody Essex Museum? PEM is the
place to go for enjoyment, enrichment, sharing with family and friends, and
creative stimulation. You can gain
exciting insights about yourselves and other cultures through special
exhibitions, weekend festivals and family art-making programs. You are vital to
the equation. Your experiences shape the art you look at and the performances
you watch, making them more meaningful and transformative. Current exhibitions include 'Impressionists
on the Water' and 'Future Beauty-Avant-Garde Japanese Fashion'.
The library has some unique holiday hours coming
up. We will be open only from 10am-2pm
on December 24th, closed on December 25th, open only from
10am-3pm on December 31st, and closed on January 1, 2014. Please stock up accordingly. Items due on the 24th or the 31st
must be in the library before closing.
