Kimball Library News 6/29/15

WILD KAT HOOPS: Get your groove on and get unleashed with WildKat Hoops and Instructor Kat Suwalski!  This hooping workshop will have your child or teen jammin' in circles.  We have limited registration to 35 youth per class.

Kat Suwalski is a FXP Fitness Master Trainer, Yoga Instructor, certified Hoopnotica teacher, Russian Kettle Bell instructor and a personal trainer. She believes life should be lived with passion and to embrace every moment. As a trained opera singer and actor, she incorporates all aspects of posture, breathing, and movement into her classes.  Movement has been her active meditation.  It has been her mission to bring the joy, release and freedom to everyone she meets.  Her playful personality and caring demeanor makes all her students feel confident and eager for more. She encourages students to explore and be creative within the framework of the practice.

Please sign up if you plan to attend, and please honor our age restrictions. We have divided the ages so that the teens and tweens will be more comfortable with similar aged peers, and Kat will teach the class according to developmental age levels.

Join us on Wednesday, July 15, if you are in the 5-9 age bracket from 5-6pm.  Join us from 6:30-7:30pm if you are in the 10-19 age group.  Dress comfortably for a fit and fun evening!

THE INSTRUCTOR CANCELLED THE ABOVE EVENT.  OUR APOLOGIES.

THE FLIGHT OF HEROES: It's a bird! It's a plane!  It's all about FLYING!

Take note from some of the coolest superheroes of all time to learn about flying! We'll be talking about how Superman and Iron Man soar mixed in with experiments and lessons about our own flying machines.  What super powers do we use to take flight?  Don't forget, we're not the only ones that can fly.  We'll talk about our flying animal friends too.  Design your own superhero themed paper airplane and make a mini-parachute to take home with you.

This ‘every story has a hero’ event is on Thursday, July 16th, from 6:30-7:30pm for children entering kindergarten through grade 5.  Registration is required.

WHAT KIND OF A SUPER KID ARE YOU?:  Come make a disguise! Be someone else for a while and then create the world’s greatest superhero stick puppet using a packet of materials handed to you.
When you’re finished, we’ll want to know all about the superhero you’ve built and the powers it has!
This ‘every story has a hero’ event is on Monday, July 20th, from 6:30-7:30pm for children entering kindergarten through grade 5.  Registration is required.
