Kimball Library News 7/20/15 (Part 2)

SUPER DOGS AND WHAT THEY DO: What the dog nose!  Think of all the Superdogs: Balto, Super Dog, RinTinTin, Bolt, Deputy Dawg, Underdog, Lassie, Krypto.  Certainly they’re dogs to remember as heroes! Hear about the dogs and make a mini-superhero dog puppet with his/her own cape.

Register grades K-5 for Monday, August 3rd, from 6:30-7:30pm to be part of this super dog event.

UNMASK BOOKS T/WEENS: Tonight will be a new twist on our regular book discussions.  Bring with you a list or copies of 3 or more teen/tween books that have changed your life or that you just think were a great read!  We'll make decisions regarding book discussions for the school year depending on your choices.  This is a great time to bring a friend because there is no pressure of needing to read or finish a book in advance.  This is a discussion EVERYONE can contribute to.

Register rising grades 6-12 for Wednesday, August 5th, from 6:30-7:30pm to be part of this literary unveiling.  At all t/ween book events refreshments and good fun are served.

BEN RUDNICK CONCERT, PICNIC, & SUNDAES: Pack a picnic and pack up the kids for a family night of music and entertainment as well as our famous ice cream sundae bar on Thursday, August 6th, from 6-8pm in the Kimball Courtyard.  Bring a blanket or lawn chairs, or use our courtyard seating.  Don't miss this awesome night out as we bring summer reading events to a close.  Register all ages in case we need to change venues if the weather doesn't cooperate.  *crosses fingers*

Rudnick’s quirky and imaginative lyrics are what I think make him stand out among other children’s music artists. Kids will laugh at the words and jump around to the high-energy music that accompanies the fantastical tales.

In the style of American roots music, Rudnick delivers a tremendous sound with the help of fellow musicians and their drums, accordion, guitar, ukulele, mandolin, harmonica, dobro, baritone and tenor sax, and double bass.'

This awesome concert and sundae bar is sponsored by our awesome Friends of the Kimball Library!
