Kimball Library News 7/24/22

Dear Summer Reading Friends,

YOU DID IT. You got well over the 200 required registrations to make my hair blue. Come to the Library during the first 3 weeks of August to see for yourself! OR, look on Instagram or Facebook for the reveal.

See you SOON. Meanwhile, keep reading!

Love, Ms. Kathy

ANIMALS & ICE: McDonny’s is back at the Kimball Library on August 3rd at 6:00 PM for our ‘Oceans of Possibilities’ summer reading finale along with Kona Ice!

McDonny's Traveling Farm is designed to allow for interaction between your children and the farm animals. From looking at a duck's webbed feet to learning what a rooster says, your child and your guests leave with a new knowledge and respect for animals.

This is the perfect opportunity for you to make special memories with your children, including watching them holding a baby chick, cuddling with a cute baby bunny, or coming face-to-face with an affectionate baby goat.

Also, to reward our summer reading registered friends, we have Kona Ice for a refreshing treat!

This is all made possible by our lovely Friends of the Kimball Library.

THE LAST DUO: Greg Descoteau and Dan Sirois are both accomplished singer-songwriters and their vocal and instrumental talents compliment each other. With top-notch harmonies, The Last Duo is a diverse, highly entertaining acoustic duo that performs songs from a wide range of artists such as The Everly Brothers, America, Simon & Garfunkel, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, and many more.

The 2022 Summer Concert Series is generously sponsored by George Family Charities.

Don't forget to invite your friends and family to join you and enjoy an evening of music on Thursday, Aug 11th, at 6:00 PM.

CRAFTING A FAIRY LIGHT:  Join Cathie and Lois as they will show you the ins and outs of creating a fairy light on Tuesday, August 16th at 6:00 PM. Using recycled wine bottles, learn how to create some mood lighting and add a special glow for your window or patio. In addition, they will discuss and demonstrate how to create an all-natural insect repellent that can be placed in a bowl to use outside when entertaining on those “fairy” filled fall nights.

Gather up your friends and family.  Registration is required and seating is limited. A non-refundable materials fee of $15.00 must be paid at time of registration. *If you register online, registration will not be confirmed unless materials fee has been paid.

5 X 5 X 5 KINDERGARTEN CLUB READINESS: For 5-year old children heading to kindergarten for 5 weeks, at 5 o’clock!

Starting school can sometimes be scary. Come practice your ‘school skills’ and make some friends! We’ll read stories, learn about schedules, play some games, make a craft, and most importantly- have lots of fun!

This class is designed to help preschoolers feel comfortable in taking the next step in their learning careers. We’ll be practicing our listening skills, raising our hands, and making new friends. Register your ‘fives’ to start the fun part of school early. Miss Katie will be hosting on Mondays at 5 PM.
