Kimball Library News 10/11/11

Are you a little bit country? Or a little bit Irish? Mac McHale and Emery Hutchins will once again be delighting audiences young and old with a combination of Irish music and American country music. Tune in on Tuesday, October 25, from 6:30-8pm. Arrive early for prime seating. Registration is not required.

Have you registered for the Halloween Spooktacular slated for Friday, October 28th, from 6-7:30pm? Don’t disappoint the kids--spooky stories, fun music, witches, ghastly goodies and a monstrous parade! Mr. Kreep’s room will also be part of the mischief. The name says it all. Registration is required that will close on October 27, 7:00pm or when all available slots are taken (whichever comes first).

It’s that time of year! Mark the date for the 7TH ANNUAL PEDDLERS MARKET taking place on Saturday, November 5, from 9:00am-3:00pm. New and returning MA and NH crafters, artisans and purveyors of fine foods will showcase their exciting products at the Atkinson Community Center, 4 Main St., Atkinson, NH. Order your greens for holiday decorating, choose a unique or classic piece of jewelry, buy or special order hand knitted sweaters, sample the freshest Georgia pecans and delicacies, shop for collectibles, Miche designer handbags, Slippery Soaps, ‘dog wear’, world trade items and so much more. We continue to expand our market and continually offer new and exciting products. This fair is a favorite and draws folks from near and far! Free admission, exciting raffles, silent auction! This exciting event is sponsored by Friends of Kimball Library, Atkinson NH and the proceeds benefit the library. Shop and support your library all in one fell swoop.

Also on November 5th, kids (ages 5-7) should come join us for a fun time on this particular Saturday morning. Do you like to experiment? See how things might work? This is your chance to learn about science around your house every day. The presenter, Craig Richard, lives in Atkinson and is a middle school science teacher in North Andover, Ma. He's going to show us some very cool things about science. Put ‘Kitchen Science’ on your calendar for 10:30-11:30am. Registration is required so don't hesitate and lose your place. We want to see YOU at the library.

Teens, do you want to cut your shirts into the coolest fashions? Sign up for ‘Crazy Cuts (Tee-shirts)’ that is happening on Tuesday, November 8th, at 6:30pm. Meet Corinne and learn how to cut and tie your shirt like a rock star. ‘Corinne’s Crazy Cuts’ is a program given by a 9th grade TRHS student who loves to cut and tie shirts. She will demonstrate her techniques so you can learn how to do this on your own. This program will really rock if you register yourself and a friend and bring a shirt(s) for cutting and a good pair of fabric scissors. Teens in grades 6-12 are eligible. Space is limited so register EARLY. Check out the teen room and see some shirts that have already been cut in multiple ways for an idea of what is to come. Parents—this is a good time to send in those tee-shirts that are lying around in drawers not being worn. Your teen can get a whole new wardrobe for free!
